Community Clinic Addresses Women’s Health through Education

2021

Community Clinic and MEI identified the need for culturally competent healthcare for Marshallese women, specifically about whole health and contraceptive education. Due to culture differences, Community Clinic and MEI noticed that in the Marshallese culture, women often forget about their own health as they are responsible for taking care of others. Furthermore, through community outreach, the partnership learned that women in the Marshallese community often feel they do not have a voice and are not sure who they can speak to when it comes to their health. Community Clinic and MEI partnered to create opportunities for health education for Marshallese women in their community.
