Innovative Dental Clinic Addresses Social Drivers of Health to Improve Patient Care

Opened in 2017, the Harry and Jeanette Weinberg Dental & Wellness Clinic in Oakland’s Chinatown is California’s first community dental clinic to integrate mental health services with specialties in endodontics, periodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry for low-income families. By offering extended appointments, licensed clinical social workers, and routine depression screenings, the clinic addresses both oral and mental health needs, reducing stigma and enhancing overall patient care.
